Alright, who’s ready for a tour of Jadens new room?! We took it from suuuper basic gray to a colorful + punchy boy room. I decided to do a navy color on the lower half of the wall to keep from showing little handprints and wear & tear cause you know, boy room. But since the space is so small, I didn’t want to color the entire wall with such a dark color. So, I opted for a bright white on the upper part of the wall with a super cute wood trim to join the colors together. The dark color works well in this space since it does get so much natural light & over all , I love how it turned out. My parents helped me edit the IKEA karuna bunkbed and turn it into a regular platform bed with the help of a skill saw. Lastly, Jaden has an obsession with cats, so he begged for this old cat quilt that my grandmother made for me 15 + years ago. It suits him perfectly. He was so engaged throughout the whole process and absolutely loves his new room. Check it below and let me know what you think!

After….

The paint colors that we used were Winter Way & Melting Icicles both from BEHR. The dresser is truly vintage (maybe even antique) and has been in a the family for years. I got it from my grandparents. The rug was a gift from my sweet sister, found on amazon which makes nap time a lot more fun. The curtains were hand-me-downs, and most of the artwork is from Target, IKEA & Hobby Lobby clearance. All together, this room makeover cost less than $75. Just more proof that great style doesn’t have to be expensive!
