Happy October you guys! I have been soaking up every moment of this cool weather by walking to work, forced playtime in the backyard for my kids, school outside, writing outside and keeping the windows open almost 24/7. I did something a little wild about a week ago where I decided around midnight on a Saturday that I really wanted bangs so I watched a Youtube tutorial, grabbed my hair cutting scissors and gave myself some bangs. To all my hair cutting friends, I know your rolling your eyes so hard at me right now, I love you but I’m also a dead a$$ broke entrepreneur at the moment so DIY bangs it is. I love them! I needed a little change and bangs make me feel like I can pull off a headscarf so I wore one several days this week… as you can see π
FAVORITE
This is one of those outfits that just feels ‘me’ and makes me so incredibly happy. I’m pretty sure this day had majorly sucked but this outfit helped bring my mood up a notch. I will be wearing this on repeat because it’s just the perfect outfit to me. Ever had one of those “match made in heaven” kind of moments but with an outfit? Yeah, that’s this outfit for me.
Converse: I have literally had since I was in the 8th grade. My mom bought them for me so I have no idea where they came from. Jumper: Junkman daughters closet. Top: Goodwill but originally from Target. Headscarf: The Dollar Tree at Halloween! It has these super cute sugar skulls all over it. Tote bag: Hobby Lobby.
Simple + Colorful
I kept my look simple for a day of work at our store which meant setting up displays, cleaning out the back storage room and meeting after meeting. I wanted to look somewhat pulled together for meetings but still be able to lift and move stuff all over the store so this was the perfect match for versatility!
Boots: Payless. Jeans: Walmart. Top: Second Life Thrift Store. Necklace: Target. And last but not least, a bold red lip brought to you by NARS.
Nun Life
One of my worst, very irrational fears is that if I wear a dress over a shirt people are going to think I’m doing it for modesty reasons and that I’m actually a conservative Nun. Or from the duggar family which would honestly be worse. I despise the duggars. However, I just felt in my gut that this pairing my look cute so I went for it and honestly, I’m glad I did. It was a fun twist on layers and this outfit felt right. I’m learning to tap into my creative intuition and this outfit was one of those attempts to listen and respond to those inner ideas.
Shoes: Goodwill. Dress: I’ve had it for years and I’m pretty sure this is from Goodwill. Shirt: From my sweet friend Julia– I love you and I’m wearing your clothes all the time!!
Thanks for reading along with this weeks style diaries and I hope they inspire you to try something new in the closet this week… I mean outfits of course π Stay Fabulous!
I love your jumper!
