Clothes, clothes, so many clothes! I have been shopping for clothes for the winter collection that I will be selling in our store plus I’ve been purging my own wardrobe and shopping for my fall capsule wardrobe. I’ve been so immersed in clothes (which is what I’ve always wanted I guess..right?!) that I’m getting bored of basic outfits. So I decided to let this Iris Apfel quote be my motto for the week…and really for the whole fall. Maybe my whole life, we’ll see.
“When you don’t dress like everyone else, you don’t have to think like everyone else.” -Iris Apfel
So I let my creative energy lead me and guide me and picked out these fun + funky outfits this week. As always, I hope your inspired to try something new and hopefully break a few fashion rules 😉
That Seventies Show
I’ve been loving the whole seventies look and thought this outfit captured the seventies pretty well – with a little modern flair of course. I got this jumper at the Junkman Daughters Closet in Little Five Points. I’m trying to include a lot more vintage and unique pieces in my wardrobe so little five points has been my spot lately! Also, Second Life Thrift in Avondale Estates is one of my all time favorite second hand spots which is where I scored this fabulous hand made bag. I added an orange statement necklace because I always think of this color being associated with the seventies for some reason.
Shoes: Goodwill. Jumper: Junkman daughters closet. Lace shirt: Vintage. Purse: Second Life Thrift. Necklace: A vintage gift from my husband.
Fading Summer
All of these colors are bright and summery I feel like but I decided to say heck with it and who cares?! I wore this on a grey and rainy day so it felt awesome to add some color and sunshine to my life with this outfit.
Boots: Walmart. Jeans: Walmart. Turquoise Tunic: Lula Roe. Orange duster: Second Life Thrift. Necklace: Sugarfix by Bauble Bar sold at Target.
So Not Over The Overalls
You guys, I love my overalls so much. They are comfy and easy to dress up or down. I’ve been playing around with dressing my overalls up by adding high heals and funky, fancy costume jewelry. This is one of my all time favorite ways to style this particular pair of overalls.
Shoes: Chinese Laundry brand purchased at Second Life Thrift. They are Velvet and every bit of fabulous. Overalls: Forever 21. Shirt: From LOFT but a hand me down from one of awesome girlfriends. Purse: Goodwill outlet. These Thrift Stores should seriously start paying me for how much I endorse them 🙂 Also, you can’t see them in the picture but I paired them with a fabulous pair of statement earrings.
Alright my friends! That’s a wrap for this weeks What I Wore post. If you have any specific topics you would like to see covered on the blog, let me know. Thanks for reading and stay fabulous!
The overalls look cute on you!
