Hey friends!
I promise I haven’t forgotten about outfit posts but these past few weeks have been really fast paced and honestly, I haven’t been wearing many “blog worthy” outfits. In fact, a lot of what I’ve been wearing has been my paint clothes as Fred and I have been demolishing the floors in our retail space and I’ve been building and painting furniture for the store. Phew, the non glamorous side to being a small biz owner! Alas, I’ve finally pulled together a few of my favorite looks I’ve worn over the past few weeks and I hope they inspire you to try something new.
Basic Basics
The saying is, with plenty of basics, you’ll have plenty of options. I’ve been working on creating a capsule wardrobe for myself which has reminded me of the importance of basics. You can always pair basics together or pair them with a bold statement piece but for this look I choose to pair two of my favorite basics together. The chambray button down and black skinny jeans. I added another basic of my favorite brown sandals and a fun necklace for a pop of color. I’ve been designing a new jewelry collection that I am planning to launch at the store this winter and this necklace is one of the creations. I’m not a huge makeup person, but a fun red lip always pairs great with this look.
Chambray top: Target. Black Denim: Walmart. Sandals: Guess brand but I snagged them at goodwill. Necklace: Made by me.
Mad for Plaid
It’s almost October but yall, it’s hot. I don’t know how much longer I can do this. I am desperate for fall weather you guys. But thankfully I found this plaid sleeveless top at Second Life Thrift store and it has allowed me to wear one of the most classic fall patterns without breaking a sweat. I paired it with my favorite booties and jeans for a fall look that was still wearable in 80+ degree weather. Once the temps drop, I’ll wear it with this cozy camel colored cardigan over top.
Plaid Shirt: Second Life Thrift Store. Jeans: ROSS. Cardigan: Walmart. Booties: Payless. Necklaces: Target (Sugar Fix and Bauble Bar give me SO many heart eyes). Gold personalized bracelet: from my sister <3. Clutch: Charming Charlies but got it at a clothing swap with some fabulous ladies I go to church with.
Tough as a Mother
I bought this ‘Tough as a Mother’ tank as part of a fundraiser for one of my favorite kids brands Clover and Birch. I love being able to support other small business owners, especially owned by women and she’s local! #winning. I absolutely love this tank and it’s edgier feel so I paired it with my go-to black skinny jeans and my hunter green lace up booties. I wanted to keep this look really simple since I was wearing this during the day but at night I would probably add a leather jacket and some bold earrings. Also, I wore a bold red lip which is always a fabulous “accessory” in and of itself 😉
Jeans: Walmart. Shoes: Old Navy. Vintage beaded clutch: Yard sale baby!!
Thanks for popping in to see the latest of what I’ve been wearing and I hope you all have a fabulous week.
