Hey readers! I hope you all enjoyed this past labor day weekend and are ready for some outfit inspiration. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite styling tips, my lazy target outfit and one of my favorite pieces from our shop, The Local Gem.
Unusual Pairings
This outfit was a lot of fun to put together and includes an unexpected pairing. This top that I’m wearing is actually a romper! I loved the way the colors in the romper paired with this burnt orange skirt so I thought “why not pair them together?” So little style tip: Try pairing some of those summer rompers with your favorite skirt. Make sure to pair with a more flowy skirt so you can’t see the shorts underneath and viola! You’ll have 2 different ways to wear your romper.
Another little styling secret I used for this outfit was pairing a belt with a draw string skirt. I really wanted to go all out with the color on this outfit so I paired this fun thrift store belt for an additional pop of color. If you want to belt a skirt with drawstrings, simply tuck them into your skirt and wrap your belt around as usual. Just make sure the belt is tight enough to stay secure around the waist line of your skirt. And now the outfit details!
Romper – Target. Scarf – From my sweet next door neighbor! Belt – Goodwill with no visible brand. Skirt – LOFT and given to me by one of my friends (thanks Julia!!) Bag – Thrift store. Shoes – Danskos
Lazy Target Outfit
Well don’t act like you don’t do it too 😉 We all have those lazy weekend outfits that we wear when we are just hanging out at home or running a quick errand to Target or Walmart or where ever it is that you shop. I wanted to take my lazy #weekendvibes look up a notch so this is one of my go-to lazy day outfits that still looks chic and put together enough to not feel completely embarrassed if I run into someone I know while I’m out! I recommend to all of my wardrobe styling clients to have a couple of pre-planned comfortable outfits that still look chic that you can quickly slip into when you need to run a quick errand.
Comfy tee – Madewell but got it at a friends yard sale. Size up if you can for extra comfort. And P.S. Madewell tees are totally worth every penny! Comfy elastic waist shorts – Goodwill. Necklace – Back by Popular Demand Consignment. Shoes – Goodwill.
Red Duster
This is one of my favorite dusters as it’s bold, colorful and memorable. I absolutely love to pair turquoise and red so of course I paired with one of my favorite turquoise necklaces.
Duster – The Local Gem. Necklace – Made by yours truly. Shirt – Goodwill. Denim – Walmart. Shoes – Payless.
