Let’s talk Boots

Hey Fashionistas! With November in full swing, you probably have already pulled out your favorite boots and been wearing them with your fall ensembles. I absolutely LOVE boots and get so excited each year to start incorporating them into my wardrobe. I practically live in boots October-March. Anyone else guilty of this?! Anywhooo… Today I’m sharing some of my most lived in boots that I wear season after season. I’m all for versatility and getting the maximum wear out of your boot investment so I have suggested some pairs that are versatile and sure to be a winner for several seasons. Also, for those of you who are new to the boot game, try some of these options to get the most bang for your buck and that are easy to style.

The Essentials

Booties with a small chunky heel are an absolute must have. Perfect for casual, weekend looks you can pair these booties with jeans or dresses. I usually recommend clients opt for a light brown or taupe color because these colors are more versatile.

Riding boots in black and brown are essential for your fall/winter shoe collection. You can opt for a riding boot that comes with both colors incorporated or you can get an all black or all brown boot. Gray is also a nice versatile option. Riding boots that fall just below the knee is usually a good choice.

Dress boots or Booties in black are perfect for those colder months when you need the warmth but want something sexy and stylish. A black heeled boot is always a good dressy option and the cut can be low or high, depending on your personal preference.

The Extras

Once you have the essentials, you can start adding on the extras! These are options that probably wont get as much wear and could be a little bit more of a “fun” buy. While the essentials remain classic and in solid colors, the extras is where you can play with fun patterns and colors.

Rain boots or Snow boots are a good addition to your boots collection. Depending on the climate you live in, you may be able to get away with just a cute pair of rain boots but if you live in a colder climate that gets snow, go ahead and add snow boots to your essentials list. Make sure when you buy rain boots to avoid colors and patterns that are too ‘loud’ and might only be in style for that season. You can still have fun rain boots by incorporating a more timeless pattern such as polka dots or plaid and in classic colors like navy or gray.

Wedge booties are a great option because they add instant style to what might be an otherwise plain outfit. You can pair your wedge booties with cuffed jeans for a super stylish ensemble. Another plus? Wedges are more comfortable than heels so you can add height and style without adding discomfort.

Fringe boots or booties are a wardrobe staple for the bohemian gal, but for the rest of us, they are still a fun winter add! They are warm and comfortable and a perfect option for weekends.

Which boots will you be adding to your winter shoe collection?

Stay Fabulous Fashionistas!
